下图是adobe官方对于FMS2及FMS3的性能对比表格，可以看出FMS3在Linux下性能相当的出色！不论Win还是Linux，FMS3比2都有显著提升。Win平台下还有可能出现的问题是，Win2003在使用FMS做Stream分发时，会用到WinSock，而Winsock在win2003服务器上，并发连接数达到800或更多，数据流量超过800Mbps时，会偶尔出现CPU占用100%情况，这是Win2003会自动重启服务器。

Adobe对于这个问题的解释是：
This issue is the result of a limitation of Microsoft Windows Server 2003. The heavy use of Winsock programs may exhaust the non-paged pool memory of a Windows Server 2003-based computer, which can cause the operating system to stop responding and consequentially affect Flash Media Streaming Server or Flash Media Interactive Server. 补充：以上图表基于标准RTMP测试，RTMPE比RTMP平均多消耗15%处理器性能。RTMPE只能应用于Flash Player 9 update 3或更高版本，以及AIR之上。
